I remember reading about this tragedy many years ago and how the living ended up eating the dead but damn watching with details what they really went through was so much worse. How the hell is the human body capable of surviving something like this wow. If i was in their situation i would probably be either dead or insane..I will never complain about anything ever again.
Also cannot describe how much the scene where they start to pack their things and freshen up, combing their hair and getting excited for their rescue broke me. They are still sweet, ordinary humans despite everything.

I despise American war movies but this is an exception because Andrew Garfield is in it.
Although on my second watch, the religious themes seem over the top and his insistence to go to war despite everything he went through seems silly to me. And don't get me started on every American portrayal of the enemies vs their soldiers.

My favourite cinematic universe: lost white boys trying navigating through highschool while going through a bonding and healing journey with their teacher/parental figure.
* I watched this film expecting absolutely nothing and boy i was so wrong. Definitely one my favourite films in a nostalgic kinda way that just warms your heart and soul and makes you tear up bc its so sweet and touching and fun. Gosh i loved it.
Instantly a Christmas classic for me.
Also a handshake?!?…
