Demi Adejuyigbe Launches Final “September” Video

Today is September 21, 2021, so you know what that means. Beginning in 2016, comedian, podcaster, writer, and self-defined “not a critic” Demi Adejuyigbe has made an annual tradition out of his popular “9/21” videos, named for the date referenced in the iconic Earth, Wind, and Fire song ‘September’.

The yearly videos have become an internet sensation since they began, with last year’s video notching nearly two million views on YouTube. Launching today at, appropriately, 9:21am PST, we’ve now got the latest, and final, entry to the series.

Each year has seen the production value of these videos hit new heights, and this latest version certainly continues that tradition. With Grease homages, elaborately choreographed dance sequences, and Demi walking up walls, the video is a sight to behold, with a special treat waiting in the end credits as well.

Demi has used the attention from the videos to encourage everyone to donate to important causes. This year he has singled out Imagine Water Works, West Fund, and Sunrise Movement as the organizations that he is raising funds for. Head to the September 21st Fundraiser site to donate.

To further encourage donations, Demi announces in the video that every donation of $10 will earn you a ticket to enter a raffle, with the prize being a painting made by Demi. As a bonus, he promises to hand-deliver the painting to the winner anywhere in the world. Once donations reach $100,000, he will also include a September 21st basketball jersey as an additional prize, with another jersey prize added for each $100k the fundraiser hits after that.

Longtime friend of Letterboxd, Demi featured recently in season two, episode two of The Letterboxd Show podcast, where he walked us through his four Letterboxd favorites: I, Tonya, Lady Bird, Ocean’s Eleven and Hot Rod. He also discussed the fear of rating movies in public, and the pleasure of watching F9, in costume, with 34 of your closest friends.
