While I was definitely not expecting it to hit the level of masterpiece that its predecessor had reached, I still expected a good and entertaining movie. Well, I'm happy to say I was entertained!
The plot is basically a retread of the original, and while fairly predictable at times I was still very much invested into the story and the spectacle of it all.
The cinematography looked phenomenal, the pacing was great, the action scenes were awesome.. hell there was even sharks in the colosseum? Lmao.
The cast was fantastic with Paul Mescal as the lead, Pedro Pascal was solid as General Acacius, and Denzel was Denzel.. his performance and deliveries were fantastic as always but it's hard not to just see him as Denzel instead of the character of Macrinus.
Oh and the Twin Emperors were despicable little brats, so hats off to the two actors for making them so easily hated.
