Still perfect. Still my favorite film.

Still some of the best acting, directing, editing, cinematography, production design and writing ever out to screen. Still marvel at every single second of this film. Still feel emotionally drained by the ending. Still holds a very special place in my heart.

Unfortunately underwhelmed (though I did enjoy this). I didn’t mind that it was as grand as it was full of shit, and the fact I found this unintentionally funny very often was to me a feature and not a bug. Watched the Coda cut. Better than I remember it (I’ve only seen this once before in contrast to the other two), but I still find it dramatically uninteresting for most of it. Really bizarre callbacks to the previous films, a terrible Sofia Coppola paired up with an even worse Andy Garcia taking up the runtime, so much deal-making with the Vatican and then a… diabetes subplot? It’s all just so much noise. And still, somewhere in there, there will be…

Very generous yet peculiar gesture by Cannes to award the Palme D’Or to Parasite again. Though honestly, for a while I thought I’d accidentally started watching Don't Look Up 2.

That summarizes a bit how I feel. Credit where credit is due, the film is rather well directed, occasionally beautiful to look at, and the cast does a rather stellar job with what they’re given. There are also some genuinely hilarious moments and some very clever gags (though brought down…
