    I made the classic mistake of immediately watching this after seeing 4 stills posted on x .com and though the film was indeed as beautiful as the stills I found the balance of the quotidian and divine occasionally clumsy, though a lot of the imagery precedes and informs Assayas’ Personal Shopper.

    Pretty sad that Ōshima‘s only overseas outing was being hired to act as a replacement Buñuel by Buñuel’s collaborators after his passing.     Pointless. Like when people say La Croix tastes like someone whispered the name of a fruit into sparkling water- this feels more like the idea of a film rather than an actual film.
