Still feels VERY much like the definition of a tangled hot mess, post-Bruges, with the filmmaker trying to give people what they want and move away from it at the same time, and the story is loaded with ideas bouncing off each other, sometimes providing terrific little moments, and sometimes fizzling out to nothing (Abby Cornish's character and her relationship to Colin Farrell is particularly......flat and disappointingly hard to parse) but Christopher Walken is terrific, there are a number of moments that are memorable and that probably linger in the mind afterwards, and on rewatch, the way it ends, sort of just....fizzling out, plays a lot better (after Farrell listens to that recording) than it did the first time around.
