    As a gentleman of substance myself, it always warms the heart to see a member of the brotherhood thriving. Three cheers for Stav, whose debut as a leading man comes in at a courteous tight 90, which time is filled with thoroughly discourteous (and mostly pretty good) jokes, and whose apex is one of the funniest sex scenes in recently cinematic memory.

    Suddenly, vividly brought to mind by the fires in Los Angeles (in early January 2025, in case anyone randomly comes across this after a bunch more awful shit happens), for the following reasons:

    1) the cops vs firefighters rugby game where the firefighters kick the cops' ass.

    2) Matt Damon's reaction being "FACK YOU" and homophobic slurs.

    3) Matt Damon being the final boss of the movie, an even worse piece of shit than any of the gangsters.

    4) 3) being treated as going without saying because fuck the cops.

    5) ergo, firefighters >>>>>>>>>>> cops


    Anyway. Great films come through for you in unexpected ways.
