500 words or so on 'The Great Beauty'

'The Great Beauty' starts quiet, serene, achingly beautiful as the camera strolls round a church, casting its gaze on passersby and a singing ensemble - before someone falls down dead. We're greeted by the words 'Our journey is entirely imaginary, which is its strength.'

The serene is shattered by the raucously joyful, if not what will be soon be seen as the superficial. Into this joyful, dancing chaos, comes Jep, slowly twirling…

It may be a mans, mans, mans world, but Jackie is taking it and walking off with it.

    Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning

For reasons I’m unsure I can explain- it brings to mind the Treehouse of Horror episode where Bart says: ‘we had something to go with this picture but it was way too intense…so we just threw something together with vampires. Enjoy!’

The handcuff car chase is fabulous. The train escape is fabulous. The rest? Meh. A terrible script shouldn’t matter when the action has such highs - but it does.

Also, I kindve hate part ones that so obviously require a second half that they don’t feel like a satisfying whole.

It’s definitely a good Bond and not a bad Bond, but it’s not a great Bond. Though it was my first Bond. So it is one of my favourite Bonds.
