This is yet another movie that affected my youth through comedians back in the 70s and 80s. The whole, “I’m ready for my close-up Mr. Demille.” And whoever was imitating this line had a psychotic look in their eye as they close in on what is supposed to be a camera.

Hey now… I can see where a young John Carpenter would say, “That was good, but what if we add lots of gore and flame throwers?!”
A little slow in some areas with a cliché relationship before female characters evolved beyond two dimensions walking in the shadow of their male counterparts.
Pretty decent visual fx for the time… Meh… save yourself the time and just watch John Carpenter’s iteration.
