the surrealism is fun but speaking as someone who’s half white/half middle eastern, it sometimes feels that the realizations men have well into adulthood are the same that i had when i was like 19 and so this left me ultimately unmoved. it’s a deeply personal film so yeah that seems weird to say but i think any story that places a woman without her own story as a motivation for a man’s self discovery will always earn major side eye from me lol
