So many talented people working behind this amazing film and at the height of their Career, bruh even Queen Latifah is in this movie. In all seriousness, at first I thought it would be a more hopeful Taxi Driver but it’s so much more than that, and even more depressing in a sense. Revolving around 3 shifts, Bringing Out the Dead delivers on a trip that feels never ending, the hellfire of midnight New York. The movie at first feels aimless which makes sense since it’s more of an introduction, then you start to get the protagonists frustrations, even understanding the actions. It is triumphant how this movie works, the cinematography showcasing the grimy underworld, magnificent performances and all-around a depressing film that just drains you by the end.
