this movie fucking R U L E S
Both a heartfelt coming of age story and a delightful piece of comic book animation. Has genuine character arcs and emotional beats that serve the story of Spider-Man maybe better than ever before, I think this really is my favorite version of this beloved character. The godly soundtrack, the flashy colors, the editing, oh my god the editing, just the entire visual control over this film is beyond impressive, the use of actual comic book style images to bring this story to life was a brilliant creative decision. Animation has almost never been more interesting, definitely one of my favs; only De Palma utilized the split screen as brilliantly as here, aside from the climax in Carrie, this takes the cake imo. Not to mention the entire cast who knock their voice performances completely out of the park. Super excited for the new one, catch me in theaters opening weekend!
