i am moved and heart broken after watching this film. it is simply astonishing. these types of films truly emphasize the capacity of the human spirit. the strength needed to endure cannot be overstated. there was also so much love present, that was clear. i do believe the film portrayed the magnitude well.
the entire cast performed a feat of cinema. enzo vogrincic is a beautiful and profound narrator, agustín pardella and matías recalt bring it home. truly, everyone did…
what a rollercoaster!! that last hour and a half was simply electric, you couldn’t look away. i think mikey madison did such an incredible job representing the many sides of ani, from the courageous moments to the ones where she’s trying her hardest to hold everything together. you cheer and despair for her. mark edyelshteyn plays the role of a malevolent annoyance well while yura borisov steals each scene he’s in. i really was enthralled. well done and am excited to round out this year’s best picture nominees with this! very strange it had no intimacy coordinator, though.
so happy to learn about such a pivotal and talented woman! this was such a sweet love letter while also demonstrating the many thoughts that come with aging, being an artist, and growing up a certain way. i hope that she comes to see herself as magical as those around her do <3
