This is the sequel I'm least familiar with and I couldn't even remember if I had actually seen it before. It was one of those franchises that had memorable video art thus haunting my young and vulnerable mind every time I visited the video store. And as scared as I was I never hesitated to grab one to see what was on the back!
A sequel that takes place six years after the original which is now 1994. Surprisingly not much quality is lost despite the feel of this film being noticeably different. Sure its lost some of that 80s horror magic but it's still an enjoyable slice of direct to video cheese.
Those kooky 90s vibes have started to creep in and the camp is dialed up. The characters aren't quite as likeable and a lot of the Male characters are super douchey. And friggin Melvin from Tremors is in this! What a chump! The trash and sleaze remains and is even more apparent showcasing lots of naked shenanigans.
The gore and gross out gags are pretty strong with lots of memorable FX and goopy carnage. Demon heads popping out of toilets, piles of blood and maggots, people's faces being ripped off, lipstick worm creatures, sexy dancing to grindcore, ninja nuns, demon booby arms, super soakers filled with holy water, demons playing basketball with their own heads...endless Tom foolery and I loved every minute!
