    this movie does such a god job with the light and the music it almost makes me overlook the absolutely nothing stance it takes on zionism. like i get it. it's not about zionism, and i can't really fault eastern european jews who spent years under nazi rule just go come and be abused and mistreated in the states for feeling like they should bug out to a new jewish state. it's just this movie is so pre oct 7 and can't really stand up to the modern context. 

    more movies should be vistavistion

    you know. if this had come out 20 years ago i could maybe see this as campy and innocently well meaning in its  representation of transness. but it's not. this is a movie a major streaming service is hoping will appease the "woke" consumers, and allow it to continue to pay transphobes millions to fear monger about us in 4-part standup specials.
