wow !! guys… i kinda loved this ??? i can easily see myself raising it to a five star on rewatch. i love when movies have good rewatchability and this is definitely one of them for me.

first and foremost, beautifully directed. every shot and frame felt intentional and thought out. i’m so curious about future projects now from this director. the sound design was incredible. it truly made me wanna retreat into myself, it was so eery. the cast was amazing. nicholas cage, of course, was stellar. i love the way he bodies every role but truly no one could play longlegs like he did. maika monroe doesn’t feel talked about enough though. her performance was phenomenal. you could truly feel how uncomfortable she was in every scene. i would like to highlight alicia witt as well. now one thing i will say to prepare people is this isn’t a typical horror movie. some people may not find this scary. however, if you like films that get under your skin, this would be a movie for you. it’s also a slow burner of a story; however i felt immensely satisfied by the third act. 

i’m going to stop there, this is one of those movies that’ll benefit you if you know nothing about it. such a ride !!
