    such an extraordinary film. billy wilder is one of the greatest directors to have ever lived. marlene dietrich is really phenomenal in this film. i was surprised when i found out that charles laughton didn't get top billing because his character in this film is the most important one. i found his performance to be really captivating. the entire film is terrific but the last ten minutes elevate the film to a whole new level. it's simply one of the most brilliant courtroom dramas of all time.
