that opening scene had me gripping my chair. i get scared easily (& i went to see this alone 😬) so for me this film was anxiety inducing and kept me on the edge. Cage’s prosthetics were so well done that it left me uncomfortable in every scene he was in and hard to look at. Maika and Cage were amazing and Cage gave such a unique and compelling performance. The editing, score, sound mixing and cinematography was perfect. Although satanic stories aren’t my cup of tea, it was interesting to see where they went with it and intertwining it with a detective direction. —
tidbit: I was not familiar w/ who oz Perkins and to find out he was in legally blonde and created this is crazy. also, i need to check out his other film “The Blackcoat’s daughter” after this.
