Well, it is a common knowledge that The Godfather is one of the most beautiful movies in the history of cinema so i’m not adding much new by saying that.

No one does it like Kuleshov! Actually… everyone does now.
I’m sort of a geek for silent short films because I’m always interested in discovering how the cinema we all love now, came to be. And these are the little gems that bring to light how important the “primitive” years of cinema are so very important.
In a less than one-minute long footage, Kuleshov strikingly demonstrates the functioning of editing: by putting together a first frame with a series of images representing different elements, that first picture will take on different meanings depending on its use and the image that follows it.

Whoa. I don’t even know where to start to comment on this fucking masterpiece.
Everything is just terrific.
The acting, the camera work, the setting, the writing, the directing, the pacing… and I could continue for hours.
The story is amazingly captivating and intriguing. All the movie is set in a single room, where 12 (angry) men are encharged of judging a boy whether guilty or innocent of the killing of his father.
All the story revolves around this decision…
