I’ve been reviewing films here for a good number of years on here so you may have thought I was older but today I actually turn 18. Going to bed now because it’s just turned the 3rd and I’m tired. I’m sure I’ll rewatch some of my favourites tomorrow…
I did indeed rewatch the greatest Lumiere film, and I’m the foremost expert on such matters as I’ve seen maybe 100 of their films.
Thanks for being with me on this journey. I’ll probably write a more commemorative review when I hit 2000 films which should be pretty soon.
Nothing much to say besides the fact that I do indeed I love this simple film. It’s one of those birth of cinema films which without we may not have the art form we have today and which has in many ways defined my life.
I remember watching The Godfather when I was about 12. Maybe the first really serious classic I consciously decided to watch. I’d been watching films all my life. Often just passing through channels on tv. But this was when I wanted to watch ‘the classics’. My mother called me down for dinner when Michael was doing his assassination. I can hear the subway tracks rattle in my head now. Drop the gun and walk out fast, don’t look at them but don’t look away.
