Maybe the greatest animated movie ever? Certainly one of them! Hadn't seen this from start-to-finish in such a long time, but it is utterly fantastic. Incredible music, not a single song is bad but also the score is so amazing. The story, the animation, everything. It's funny, emotional, endearing, aweinspiring. I feel like, as many of the renaissance Disney movies do, this movie perfectly leans into new, creative, and unique ideas while still expressing what Disney movies should and always have been about. Easily one of, if not Disney's best animated features.
Lastly, it'd be remiss of me to not talk about James Earl Jones. His performance and presence in this movie is so phenomenal, and can truly say it wouldn't be as great without him. He plays Mufasa perfectly, and him saying "Remember who you are" to his son is not only so powerful written down, but is exponentially more so due to Jones' incredible voice and acting. Absolute legend. He will be missed. RIP
