such a solid and refreshing film to see in the horror genre. through its entire runtime i was so locked on every aspect of this film, it never feels slow or played out its entirely condensed and compelling all the way through. this movie has taken over social media as it merges modern cinema and specifically horror with the past, with allusions to classic horror Longlegs still feels so new and refreshing and when it comes to its technicality its absolutely masterful. from the way its shot to the sound design, it feels like directors now are harboring new ways to make modern cinema feel like it stands out and this film is nothing far from distinctive and unique.
not as nightmarishly scary as i expected but it is still undoubtedly effective with how much depth lies in the central narrative. its messed up, its horrifying and Nic Cage is at the center of it all. he is truly unrecognizable in this role and the unexpected way his character acts in this film is terrifying because you truly never know what he is going to do next. definitely the standout.
