Gets better and better with each viewing. The way this film portrays the dark, all-consuming nature of grief really resonates with me. As sinister as it is, this is a deeply empathetic movie that portrays a dysfunctional family in a way that pleads for their situation to get better; there’s little moments of hope that appear all throughout only to be whisked away as quickly as they come. Scanner Cop 1994
Not bad for a DTV movie. The opening sequence is very well done. establishing Sam’s backstory with ease and developing him as a sympathetic character. The premise and the stakes are very clearly laid out, and the gradual escalation keeps things engaging.
It’s also goofy as all hell, with a mad scientist villain that feels like he was ripped straight out of a cartoon, topped off with a fortune-telling sidekick. The actors are clearly having fun, but it’s all so deeply silly. I think this installment also has the best constipation-faces thus far. The scanning sequences just keep getting more and more hilarious.

Vol. 3 is overflowing with visual creativity, spectacular action, humor, and compassion.
At two and a half hours, this movie never feels sluggish or overlong. It’s emotionally captivating, funny, sweet,…
