While I did enjoy the film overall and found Shirley Maclaine's performance excellent pacing issues kept me from really loving this.
I did not read a synopsis about this film before watching this and I was a little surprised by the plot centering around so much sex. I wasn't like offended or anything I was just surprised for an older film this felt pretty risque. Jack Lemon gave a pretty good performance but his character took a little too long…
I loved this gorgeous, moving, fairytale love story. There are so many amazing aspects to this from the sense of childlike wonder it made me feel, to the loveable and memorable characters, to the beautiful animation I'm blown away.
Sophie is one of the most charming characters of all time. Doesn't matter if she's a young woman or an old lady her heart is always on her sleeve and it makes her so likeable. In fact all the characters in…
I have no idea what I watched but I know I didn't like it.
This movie isn't all terrible but every good thing in this is offset by something equally terrible. The movie looks amazing at times and awful at times. The movie has some amazing scenes and some that feel like they belong in some 12 years olds first YouTube movie. Adam Driver has some great scenes and some that are so laughably bad I was embarrassed for him…
This is an interesting mix of the home invasion, heist, and hostage standoff thriller subgenres.
All the performances in this are solid nothing amazing but no one really stands out in a bad way either. Love him or hate him the most memorable performance in this is definitely Jared Leto.
Fincher does go a little overboard in this with the CGI camera work throughout the house. But he does a great job making this one location movie feel fresh and…
I was sure this was going to be a 4 star movie while watching it and then the end happened. The ending to this movie is fucking iconic and lived up to it's reputation. The lines between Bogart and Bergman here are PURE cinema.
Humphrey Bogart is just so damn cool in this movie. It feels like he is the leading man blueprint that so many other actors try to emulate all these years later.
I'm a bit mixed on this one but overall I think this is a beautiful film that reminded me of too many other things while watching it to make this specific movie memorable.
The animation style to this is beautiful but this reminded me a lot of The Wild Robot without the Robot. This movie also reminded me of many different video games like Stray, Flower, and the Team Ico video games Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last…
This movie struggles at a few things for sure but what this really nails home is just how unrelenting racial violence and structural racism are in the United States. One fight after another just to try and live free.
This movie's biggest issue is it tries to cover way too much and ends up feeling overstuffed. The first two acts are strong the third act tries to jam way too many things into it and the weight of these very…
Cars 1 is fine but overrated, Cars 2 is dog shit, Cars 3 is fine but wayyyyyy overhated.
This movie routinely shows up towards the bottom of almost every Pixar ranking I see and I have no idea why. The story is a pretty standard go for your dreams, don't listen to naysayers, kids movie plot. Cruz and Lightning have pretty good character arcs. I think it's fun how much this pays homage to Doc from the first movie. I…
This story to this film is pretty well done. Robin Williams has a son from a one night fling early in life that he has raised along with Nathan Lane's character. Their son Val is marrying Calista Flockhart who is the daughter of a conservative politician played by Gene Hackman. Val convinces his parents to try and not let his future in-laws know his family secret in hilarious fashion. The comedy is very 90's for these…
When they say they don't make movies like they used to they are talking about this. The dark fantasy kids movie doesn't exist anymore and that is very sad. This movie is seriously unhinged and it's always straddling the line between cute and nightmare fuel.
I love this film but I can admit nostalgia is a huge reason why I love this. I can see this being a tough watch for anyone just now seeing this for the first time.…
I always say comedy is the most subjective genre with horror being a close second. I found this to be a ton of fun and HATED Thanksgiving. On paper these films are basically the same. In execution they are very different. Heart Eyes is much funnier and did not depend on just gore to deliver laughs, even though the gore in this is still solid. Thanksgiving was a bad version of Scary Movie. Heart Eyes feels like a solid attempt…
I think if even the biggest MCU fans are honest with themselves there's like a total of 10 maybe 12 great MCU movies that can stand on their own merit without ties to an overarching story like the Infinity Saga. The rest fall in this range of perfectly fine to watch films that serve more as a link in a chain than a great movie.
