Hamiltonification of gender dysphoria? Girlbossification of the Mexican drug cartel? Sicario for the dolls? I think I enjoyed Gascón and Saldaña's thunderous performances, especially the former's (I seriously didn't clock that she also played Manitas; that's impressive) more than what the film did to its two central themes, post-op trans life and the plight of the victims of the drug cartel. Felt like two disparate movies that lacked grace and proper understanding for the communities they spotlight.
