RaMell does an excellent job of immersing us with the characters of Elwood and Turner with the single person POV. At first it feels strange, but as you settle in you truly get to grips with their characters through first-person perspectives of their childhood memories - the joy contrasted with scenes of the stars in the skies and then you’re facing their current predicament.
This is such an immersive and vivid film and I felt a gut wrenching feeling of anger, sorrow and just emptiness. This is one of the best films of 2024 and one I will remember for a long time

Okay so I was very very apprehensive about Robbie Williams being portrayed as a monkey… but it worked incredibly well.
Most biopics are formulaic - humble beginnings, rise to fame, issues with stardom and recovery. This could have been an extraordinary film in the hands of any other director. I cannot fathom how the work of the set designers which produced some beautiful sets could have their work reduced like that. Oz is dull! The cinematography was awful, film was drawn out and bloated. Goldblum and Yeoh were miscast. But on a positive note, Cynthia and Ariana both have amazing chemistry. Still think the quality of their performances is being overblown - it was good, but to me? Not remarkable at all.
