Ghost House hostess with the mostest, Lydia Deetz, is Elvira Goth goddess in the opener and I was enamored. Whoa, Mama. Having a crush on her for 36 years has been a good experience. This beats the piss out of most of the legacy sequels. Definitely Hocus Pocus 2 that got all the normies excited awhile back. Keaton looks fantastic and doesn't miss a step in his performance. It even made me think that Englund could get back in the Freddy make-up.
Burton's imagination is back and Bob is a total heartthrob. Proper callbacks and a solid soundtrack. Bio-Exorcist schemes and baby beetle screams. Black plague origin flashbacks and Romantisme to get the blood flowing. French Delores is something stapled and special. Burton's a lucky man, or is he? I laughed out loud several times, whole heartedly. With the exception of a couple of bad dollops of CGI this has animatronics galore, mucho practical and spooky season vivacity that makes you want to put up the Halloween decorations. Thee Sigur Rós track inclusion was a nice touch especially with it's perfect time alignment. The Carrie title theme was even better. What splendor. MacArthur Park hit the spot too. My belly is full. Angst for the memories, Mr. Burton.
