Loved the premise, how it was shot, and the performances but you can’t make a movie in 2024 about the history of Palestine and Israel and give absolutely zero commentary or broader context. It felt cowardly.

Eggers’ storytelling isn’t my fave but I adored the decadence of the slow panning cinematography and the lighting design - it all felt so stylized and intentional
I’m glad they gave Bram Stoker credit though because this (and the og movie) is so blatantly and shamelessly store brand dracula
