Betulaceae[2] (nomen botanicum ab Ioanne Eduardo Gray statutum) est familia arborum fruticumque monoecorum anemophilorum nuciferorum ordinis Fagalium quae sex genera et fere 234 species comprehendit[3], inter quas sunt alni, betulae, carpini, coryli, ostryae ac ostryopses.

Betulaceae deciduae sunt; habent folia alternata simplicia venatione pinnata, flores amentaceos, ac fructus, qui sunt nuces vel achenia vel samarae vel nuculae.

Hodierna phylogenetica molecularis coniunctiones sequentis indicat.[1]
