Now more than six months in — and with another location up in the Bay Area already — LocoL in Watts has found its groove. The lines aren’t quite as long as opening day but you’ll still find plenty of people inside the corner space at 103rd bot day and night, as the fast food restaurant looks to actively engage with locals and outsiders alike.

In this new video from Emerson Collective, Choi and co-founder Daniel Patterson talk about what it’s been like to help bring even more vibrancy to Watts through LocoL, why it’s important to hire from within communities, and how empowering those around you can lead to greater results for everyone involved.

Take a look; it’s a heartfelt look at what LocoL is trying to do in their community, and provides some context for the tireless men and women who are working behind the counter to keep the restaurant thriving.
