Have you been snooping around Whittier lately, looking for a place to eat? If so, it’s likely that you’ve been bludgeoned with choice, as the available options for eating well in the heart of that city have become nearly endless — and now comes another, in the form of Ravello Bar & Grill.
The upcoming Italian option plans on offering a variety of coastal menu delights, from crispy calamari starters to a clam linguine, and pan-seared branzino as a main. Along the way are rotating pastas, pizzas, and plenty of sides to fill in the gaps, with chef Carlos Escalante running things in the back. Both lunch and dinner menus are below.
The Greenleaf Avenue space in Whittier is the work of Michael Burkhardt, a longtime GM in the Pasadena area, and manager Patrick Kolanoski. The 1940’s-era building was formerly a shoe store but has been converted into a 176-seat powerhouse, with 8,400 square feet of usable venue — including private dining space and an outdoor patio.
Ravello Bar & Grill opens Monday in Whittier, working both a lunch and dinner service moving forward. Daily hours run 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and again from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. weeknights, with an extension to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
