【まとめ】100+ Books Modern Pioneers and Writers Have Read - 世界的な起業家や作家のオススメ本100冊+

 

Introduction:

A better way to find a great book is to find someone who knows great books.

In other words, it is better to focus on PEOPLE rather than BOOK.

Here are the book recommendations from modern entrepreneurs and prominent nonfiction writers.

You can see the massive book list with source information following the Japanese introduction below.

I used many sources but especially NY-based "One Grand Books" was very similar to what I was looking for.

This will be my lifelong "TSUNDOKU" list.

 

良い本に出会う近道は、良い本を読んでいる人を見つけることだ。

 

この「本を探すのではなく、人を探す」というアプローチは、「スゴ本」さんが推奨している。日本語圏だとスゴ本さんや読書猿さんや基本読書さんといった個人ブログを頼りにするだけで、ジャンル問わず良質な本の情報が得られる。

 

一方、このブログは洋書のレビューが中心なので海外の新刊情報を常に収集しているのだけど、単独で「これ見ておけばOK」と言えるような目利きのページはまだ見つけられていない。

 

そのかわりに気づいた事があって、英語圏では著名人が好きな本のリストを公開している記事がけっこう簡単に見つかる（参考過去記事：サマーリーディングリストまとめ2016 ）。

 

というわけで、世界的な起業家と作家（今回はノンフィクション作家）がオススメしている本のまとめリストを作ってみた。

 

起業家パートは、いわゆるGAFA全社の創業者を含んでいる。億万長者の愛読書を読んでも、億万長者になれるわけではない。でも「億万長者の愛読書を読んだ人」には、誰でも自由になれる。

 

作家パートは、「この人の新刊は出たら買う」と私が決めているノンフィクション作家を選んでいる。起業家パートに比べると個人的な趣味を反映しているが、いずれもセールス面でもクオリティ面でも世界的な作家と言ってよい人たちだと思う。

 

本題に入る前にひとつ余談。この記事を書くためにいろいろ検索をしていたら、ニューヨーク*1にある"One Grand Books"という独立系のリアル/オンライン書店を見つけてしまった。ひと言でいうと、いろんな人の「無人島に持っていきたい10冊」ばかりを取りそろえた書店である。・・私が探してたやつ、既にある！！
