Recording Zoom meetings can be a useful tool, but there are some limitations when it comes to recording breakout rooms. The standard is that breakout rooms are not captured. If you wish to capture your breakout rooms, it is important to make special plans to ensure that your content is recorded as you intend.

Local Recording
When you record locally the recording will follow the host. Whatever they see will be captured in the recording. Local recordings can be initiated in any of the rooms by participants within a given room as long as a participant is able to record. If you need to record all of your breakout rooms, it is recommended to give individuals the ability to record and designate someone as the videographer for their room.
Cloud Recording
Cloud recording within a Zoom breakout room is not currently possible. As long as the host remains in the main room, the recording will continue. If the host leaves the main room, there will be a gap in the recording where viewers will see a blank screen with no audio. When the host returns, the recording will restart immediately. Local recordings (above) in breakout rooms can coincide with a cloud recording in the main room. The content recorded locally could be folded into the main recording once in UICapture (https://support.panopto.com/s/article/Add-and-edit-Video-Streams).
