Really nice idea. I think this game deserves more reach as custom chess games went popular around live streams. I recommend a webgl build if you can, for instant access. Cool art style and color choice to indicators. Nice work!

Feel free to hop into my game as well and share your thoughts and ratings if you have the time!

I'm not sure if we're allowed to add builds during the voting period. We're intending to add a webgl build after the voting period ends.

The game idea is very clever. I liked it a lot! It feels really difficult to figure out though (I'm a chess noob), but I would love to see this game expanded more! Maybe more features that can help beginners to figure out the moves that are impossible to be made, and also the spawning mechanism can be a bit clearer. Felt clueless at times, and feels a bit frustrating undoing and trying to figure out valid and good moves.

pretty challenging but fun game! i would like to see this concept be polished and balanced for sure!

I don't like chess very much, but you're idea sound really cool!

I like chess, and this was really fun! and the art is great, overall love the Game.

I don't know enough about chess to be good at this game, but this a great concept and it was well executed!

Really involving gameplay! Sometimes AI just ruins all game in one turn e.g. uncapturing pawn under pawn or not spawning needed figure all the game... But actually there are so many conditions like that in chess-based game to do it more playable without undos and to reduce need in this undo-shuffle-style gameplay, so that's definitely not possible to code in 48 hrs. And for me I interpret this game as a genius concept and the flawless proof of one at the same time! And I'm really can't wait some additional tweaks of AI conditions and build for Android to burn some time in trips with this game :)

Thank you so much. Creating an mobile build sounds like a great idea too!

As a chess fan this definitely tickles my fancy a bit! I hear this is a real game you can play irl but I've never seen it depicted like this before. Very engaging! A real brain twister, and enjoyable to play because of that. Great job!

This is called rewinding chess in real life! I would love to know if you came up with the idea independently because it's great.

Developer

It was thought of independently, we had no idea about Rewinding Chess, thanks for letting us know :)

Really like the concept of trying to figure out the game that has been played ! Really well done !

What a brain twister this one is :D Amazing polish for 48 hours congrats!

As an avid chess fan I had to try this out. The presentation feels really clean. I didn't fully figure it out, but here it feels like I'd rather want to come back and play it more when I have more time. I figured out I could move my queen forward do un-promote it to a pawn which felt cool. Didn't fully see why I got ( ! ) sometimes, but more on me to explore it.

Cool game!

This actually really fun. At first I felt that the number of possibilities to put the board back into its original state would be to overwhelming, and to be honest, I still think it is. I feel confident that if I gave it enough time, I would solve it. It feels that the pieces you get back depend too much on RNG, and I am not sure what can be done to fix it. I hope you come up with a solution.

Interesting experience for chess lovers

Great game. 5 stars in all categories. It took me so long to realise that I have to let their pieces unpromote too xD

A really evocative concept! I struggled to figure out what actions would be more strategic at any given moment, but it's interesting and enjoyable

It's a very unique game concept. It can be somewhat difficult for people unfamiliar with chess.

I really love the pixel art and the casual feel of the music! The concept of chess being used like this is really unique, and creates an interesting puzzle.
