CCEE1222 Focus on Piercing
For our last challenge of May, Charlene has asked us to make PIERCING our focus.
This card uses more piercing than usual, because I HATE to do it, and never get it straight, even when I use my matpack. On top of that, it just plain hurts my hand. I am NO Joanne Grzelak (jojot).
I used a coneflower image from Paper Inspirations, and embossed in white on a pretty combination of papers (Anna Griffin and solid). I added only a ribbon bow, since I didn't want to overwhelm the piercing.
Please join us by linking your card HERE, and join us again in June.

Get Well Owl
Well, Mom's house went on the market today. I finished the cleaning, brought home everything that didn't need to be seen there, and thank heaven, it's done. Boy am I tired.
I came home to find a fun challenge, and used this cute Bosscut owl as the centerpiece. The only stamping in the sentiment, which is from MFP's set "Flaps my Wattles".
I sincerely intend to spend the afternoon with a glass of wine, refilled when necessary. Vegging out sounds rel good to me. Have a wonderful day!

Blushing Blessings
I have had the most frustrating day! The best part was in posting this card. Everything else I touched turned to you-know-what!
My hand Dr. cannot see me until after the middle of June. I go to Springfield Friday to demo for Rubbernecker Stamps. RATS!
OK. The Realtor will meet Mom and me tomorrow to list the house. I will spend the day cleaning it. RATS!
I had a Migraine last night, and the medicine has helped, but I am still nauseous, and I have the runs. RATS!
DH took his car to be inspected this AM.........gave them the wrong key, so I had to take him back. RATS.
We are to have thunderstorms all afternoon. RATS!
There. I think I feel better. Have a great day...........and send some of that to me!

Memorial Day RED
This challenge called for distressed edges. We are in Father's Day mode with our cards, so this seemed just right...especially this Memorial Day weekend.
All of our Dads are Super Dads, so it won't matter who gets this!!
Denise at SCS asked me to make a sample for the Clean And Simple Challenge. The theme was LOVE..........how could I resist making a RED card. This was indeed easy, using only a couple of punches and a marker.
I think I can put this away for Valentine's Day....I always love to add to my stash.
Have a great rest of the weekend, and to those who have served us, a BIG THANKS!

Bamboo for susanbri
For the Featured Stamper today, Susan, I cased a card with bamboo in green. I changed the green to gold, using heat embossing, and Rubbernecker Stamps.
The bg is gold vellum and white, and I added some Magenta gold foil stickers.
Thanks for looking. We are hanging out here today with son Paul, DIL Debbie, and DGS Jake. Hope you are enjoying the weekend with family too!

Graduation!
This is the card I made for my grandson Nathan. He is graduating from Chelmsford High School next weekend. His school colors are maroon and white, so this card will be just right. I would like to say I thought this card up all by myself, but it's a case of a card I saw on SCS done by DONIDOODLE, and you can click that link to see her card. I used Mark's Finest Papers stamps, Here Comes The Grad.
This is the inside, which I think is just as cool as the outside!
I won't be at Nate's graduation, as I will be in Springfield, working at the Rubbernecker booth with Julia Aston and the owner of Rubbernecker stamps, Dave Miller.
I hope you like what I did casing this fab card. Have a great weekend!

PINK!
Today at SCS the theme was HOT, HOT, HOT! The challenge called for HOT PINK.
I made two cards today, both Clean and Simple. This one is for Dawn Easton (TreasureOiler), our Queen For The Day. I cased a card of hers, changing the colors and images, and reversing the layout.
The images are new Rubbernecker stamps:
644-01 2012 Collage Pattern BackGround 1
645-01 2012 Collage - Floral Set 1
600 Phrase Set - Best Wishes
This card is for the Free 4 All Challenge, to use Hot Pink.
I stamped the images from Rubbernecker on a plain white card in Passion Pink and black. I only added a ribbon.
It's now 2 PM. We got back from Mom's house and lunch about an hour ago. 1-800-GOTJUNK fiinished taking out almost 5 full trucks of accumulated stuff of 52 years!! It's done, and now the house can be sold. We are all exhausted! I'll keep you posted.

CCEE 1221 Challenge of colors
This week Charlene chose a color challenge for us: Daffodil, RED, Wasabi, and a neutral. I'll bet you figured out I used white!
I love this little image, but had an awful time putting this together. I couldn't seem to find the right bg for her. I tried a RED heart, a scalloped circle, a variety of plain colors, and ended up with the white, which I think is fine. At least, that's where I ended up!
Please join us again, and link your card HERE. Be sure to look for us every Thursday.

Have Some Greenery!
Today's sketch is very interesting. I''m sure most people would see layers and layers. I saw inks.
There are four inks at work here, and three different Rubbernecker images:
497-14 2010 Weeds
609-03 2012 Wildflowers Floral #6
600 Phrase Set - Best Wishes
I hope you like my take on the challenge. Off to Mom's to meet 1-800-Got Junk! We're almost done!

CHF01 Challenge - Anything Goes
Welcome to the very FIRST Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge!
Frances Byrne chose our theme - Anything Goes. She wanted the first to be easy peasy, and it is!
I used Vintage Flower Vine BG (SL3174), and Versamarked it, then sponged with lavender chalk. The Eiffel Tower comes from the set called Haute Couture (ATC5006), and was markered directly on the rubber. I added some clouds and flowers over the nesties.
We hope you will join us, and add your card to our blog here. Don't forget to check out the DT and what they have done. Click the names on my sidebar. Our next challenge is June 5th. See you then.

Variegated Leaves
I need some help here......
This card is for a combined challenge at SCS. I used my brayer, cb, and Sizzix leaves. Then I think I went one step too far when I punched the edge. Should I do this again, and forget about the punch???????????
I used two sentiments from Rubbernecker Stamps, and they are both in the same set (600 Phrase Set - Best Wishes).
Please remember to join in on the Blog Hop by clicking on the top badge to the right before the 25th.........you could win some fab Rubbernecker stamps!!

Birthday for an Old Guy!
I just couldn't resist using my favorite colors today, casing our Featured stamper, Candace.
This is a wonderful vintage image from Rubbernecker stamps called "Dapper on Bike", and he sure is dapper! the phrase is from Rubbernecker too.
The Rubbernecker Blog Hop is going on right now, and will end on the 25th. take part...there are some fab prizes. Check out my post from yesterday and my sidebar.

CCEE 1220 Embossed Vellum
Charlene challenged us this week to emboss some vellum. I dry embossed some white vellum with a flourish design, and attached it by brads to a rust bg. The striped paper (and in face ALL the paper ) is from SU's Outlaw Pack.
The image was colored with markers in rust and sage, and all I did was to sponge the edges and add a ribbon.
I hope you will want to join us again this week. Please link your card HERE, and join us again next week!

Butterfly Sneak
This card is a multiple....for our new Queen, Wanda, I cased one of her cards from her fabulous gallery, and it's also for the Free For All, to make a small tall card.
This card will go in a bill-sized envelope. Keeps down the expense of those, but takes more paper than usual, so I don't know if this is a bonus or not!
Beautiful sunny day, and Mom and I are invited out for lunch. Of course we said YES!!
Hope you are having a terrific day! Hugs to you all.

CCEE Challenge 1219 - Make a Button
Welcome back to another CCEE challenge. This time, we were to make our own button(s).
I used a really old SU set and DP. The button was made by layering punches, glueing between the layers, and poking holes with a piercer. Crystal Effects makes the button shiny. The only hard part is waiting for it to dry (and I'm really impatient!). I added a ribbon, a nestie and some corner die cuts, and a couple of yellow pearls. Oh yes, and some crystal effects to the vase.
Please join us by linking your card HERE so we can enjoy it too, and be sure to join us again on Thursdays for another fun challenge!

This is a sneak peek of a new set from Mark's Finest Papers - a Heinrich Co. It will be released with three others next Tuesday in a Blog Hop.........I hope you'll come here and take a look.
The set is called "Flamingos on Vacation", and has such fun sayings and images for summer.
I made this card for the Color Challenge, and did some sponging and paper piecing. I hope you like it.
Rainy and dark today. I could really use some summer weather, and HOT! would be fine with me!!
Have a wonderful day, wherever you are!

Chic Diva
Immediately I thought of this beautiful (retired) image from Cornish Heritage Farms. I had some wonderful matching paper that was mostly Sage, and I love it. I hope you like what I did with the challenges today.
Today we have some errands, and I have to call the Spa place. We are losing water! The pool is a beautiful color, but suddenly cloudy. Looks like it's shaping up to be an expensive day. Ah, the joys of home ownership!!
Have a great day.....do something FUN!

Inspiration and Speedy's Friends Challenges
Today I combined the challenges. The Inspiration was The Victorian Trading Co., where beautiful gifts are all vintage. A gorgeous site to visit. I chose a pair of sheet music shoes with a fan front and flowers in pink. I think I reproduced it fairly well.
Speedy the Fox and Friends Challenge #106 was chosen by Kelli - to use something 3 times. I used 3 different flowers, brads, and used 3 layers of the same dp (CK).
We welcome you to join us each week on Saturday. Please upload your card to Mr. Linky HERE so we can enjoy it too.
DH is off at Holy Cross, officiating at the Eastern Colleges Track Meet again in the rain today. Mom and I have a gazillion things to do, so I won't be checking in any time soon. Have a good one, and send us some SUNSHINE!!

QFTD Betty
Our Queen for the Day is Betty Wright. What a sweet and talented lady she is!! I had no problem finding a card of hers to case. Just the opposite....too many!!
Betty, I hope you like how I changed your card to make it mine. Enjoy your reign as Queen!
Betty does a lot of sewing, and as a former dressmaker, you'd think I would love to do it. NOT! I used glue.....no machine.
Had a busy day already. Got up early and drove to Mom's to meet the guy who put in her Stair-lift. I packed my car with more of her stuff, and drove home. He arrived shortly after I did, and there was a slight problem. He left for an hour to get more tools, so I took Mom out to lunch. He came back, and I took her to the hairdresser. I'll go back and get her in 45 min., and I'm sure he won't be done. A lot of running around, but it will be easier for her to get upstairs to her bedroom here. PHEW! I'm tired out!
Have a great day, and be sure to check out Betty's beautiful gallery at SCS.

CCEE Challenge 1218 Gingham
Welcome to another CCEE challenge! This week our hostess Charlene told us to use Gingham.
I love to make masculine cards! I just love this sailboat from Cornish Heritage Farms.........it's a digi! I paired it with dark blue gingham and solid dark blue, and some fabulous nautical ribbon from my stash. I also had a sailboat button, but made it RED with a sharpie marker.
We hope you will want to join us, and HERE is where you can add your card to Mr. Linky.
Join us again next Thursday and every Thursday for another fun challenge!

Cowboy in RED
It's been a while since I posted, so how could I resist something in RED?
This card uses the sketch challenge at SCS today. My images are from MFP - A Heinrich Co.'s set, "Hey Cowboy". I love the silhouette and barbed wire!
This color combination is my favorite, of course, and cheered me a bit on another rainy and dark day. I have been trying (!) to do some cleaning in my craft room, and it's really hard to see much. How's that for an excuse?
No plans for the rest of the day, except reading and watching the RED Sox tonight. Have a great day yourself!
