This unidentified individual was a wizard who was Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry sometime before Armando Dippet.[2]
Biography[]
After his death, his portrait hung in the Headmaster's office in order to give advice to the current Head.[4][2]
An inscription on his portrait read "Atatis XXXV",[5] indicating that he was aged thirty-five when the portrait was painted, as atatis is a Latin form of "aetatis", meaning "at the age of".[6]
The inscription on his frame read "Suprem Aeris regio Aquce Salsa Regio Vegetabis Pura".[7]
A portrait of him was hung in the Gryffindor common room,[8] showing that he must have been the Head of Gryffindor House at some point in his life.[3]
