Gruffyd Wellnelly was a wizard and the twin brother of Baglan Wellnelly.[6]
Biography[]
He and his twin brother, Baglan Wellnelly, began attending Durmstrang Institute. During their entire time at Durmstrang, they never lost a Quidditch match and had a perfect record.[6] Gruffyd and his brother regarded a Chimaera they kept called Chimmy as more of a third sibling rather than a pet. They harboured Chimmy in the forest near Durmstrang.[5]
At one point, an opposing Quidditch team found out about Chimmy. They threatened to blackmail them and report them to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures if they did not leave Durmstrang. Rather than stay and face terrible consequences, they left Durmstrang.[5]
By the 1988–1989 school year, he and his twin brother Baglan had transferred to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for an unknown reason.[4]
Magical abilities and skills[]
- Flying: Gruffyd and his brother were said to be the finest Quidditch players at Durmstrang.[5]
- Care of Magical Creatures: Gruffyd and his brother were able to successfully tame a Chimaera, which was an extremely dangerous magical beast.[5]
