Alexis Marie was a witch and Gryffindor student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Alexis once signed up for Quidditch training at 7pm on Saturday on a sign-up sheet that was posted on the bulletin board in the Gryffindor common room.[2]
Etymology[]
The name "Alexis" comes from the Greek name Αλεξις (Alexis), which meant "helper" or "defender", derived from Greek αλεξω (alexo) "to defend, to help". This was the name of a 3rd-century BC Greek comic poet, and also of several saints. It is used somewhat interchangeably with the related name Αλεξιος or Alexius, borne by five Byzantine emperors. In the English-speaking world it is more commonly used as a feminine name.
