- — Adam Pickering talks with Harry Potter in the Boys' Dormitory[src]
Adam Pickering was a wizard and Gryffindor student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1990s.[4] During the 1996–1997 school year, he was usually seen hanging out in the Gryffindor boy's dormitory, and would play chess with Harry Potter. He exchanged leeches with Harry Potter.[3]
Etymology[]
"Adam" is the Hebrew word for "man". It could be ultimately derived from Hebrew אדם ('adam) meaning "to be red", referring to the ruddy colour of human skin, or from Akkadian adamu meaning "to make".
