• 1991: Twelve Hogwarts letters arrive at 4 Privet Drive. Vernon Dursley boards up every crack around every door and window.
• 1997: A battle occurs between the Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix over Little Whinging. Alastor Moody and Hedwig are killed. George Weasley is severely injured, his ear being severed by Sectumsempra . Harry Potter loses his Firebolt during the battle.

• 1947: Actor Rade Šerbedžija, who portrays Mykew Gregorovitch in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, is born.
• 1993: J. K. Rowling's daughter, Jessica Rowling Arantes, is born in Portugal.
• During the Meeting at Malfoy Manor in 1997 Severus Snape says that Harry Potter will be moved "Saturday next, at nightfall". The move happened 27 July. This means that what Snape says is wrong since that day was a Sunday in real life. However the time is not set, so it could have been midnight, about to change the day.
