- January: The International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy is breached when Muggle journalist Brice Badeaux witnesses a member of the SOS Taskforce immobilising Pixies in order to return a Foundable trace of the Goblet of Fire to its proper place and time. The journalist goes on to publish articles regarding magic.
- 20 June: The Second Anniversary Celebration of the Calamity is held.[1]
- 24 June: Harry Potter and Albus Potter go for a walk to Cedric Diggory's grave where Harry goes every year on the anniversary of Cedric's death to say sorry.[2]

- 20 February: David de Keyser, who voiced Albus Dumbledore, Quirinus Quirrell and Tom Riddle in the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, dies at the age of 93.

- 5 April: Paul Ritter, who played Eldred Worple in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, dies at the age of 54.
