Moving Shadow is an English breakbeat hardcore, jungle and drum and bass record label which was founded in 1990 by Rob Playford. Moving Shadow grew to be a well-regarded and long-lived publisher with over 700 releases.
Moving Shadow provided music for several classic Rockstar games in the late 90s and early 2000s, including Grand Theft Auto 2, Midnight Club: Street Racing, and Grand Theft Auto III, where the label supplied an entire in-game radio station called MSX FM, hosted by MC Codebreaker. All the music played on MSX FM is included on DJ Timecode's 2001 mix album titled "01.1".
In Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, all tracks on MSX 98 are taken from the Moving Shadow label, to which various British drum and bass pioneers are signed.
The last Rockstar game to feature the label's music is Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition. The label itself also helped to promote some Rockstar projects. For example, the "99.1" mix CD included GTA2: The Movie, while the "99.2" CD included a demo of GTA 2 and the Thrasher: Skate and Destroy trailer.
