Macbeth is a brand of Scottish whisky in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.
Description[]
Macbeth is a 12-year-aged single malt scotch whisky containing 43% alcohol, with royal approval. They were also previously bottled in ceramic jars, as Macbeth jars can be found in Lester Crest's home, presumably used as part of his moonshine brewing operation.
Random Spawn Mechanic in GTA Online[]
In GTA Online, the Macbeth whisky can be bought and consumed in Nightclubs and The Diamond Casino & Resort by the player for $350 (no charge if consuming in one's own nightclub, at the casino bar after buying a VIP membership, or the Master Penthouse bar after purchase), and is only served neat (whiskey only) in a shot glass. A unique animation plays if the player requests a Macbeth shot after already having had a shot of another whiskey, showing the player nearly falling over before indicating to the bartender they're fine and downing the shot. Bartenders will not serve players two consecutive Macbeth shots.
After drinking the shot of whisky, the player will down the shot, immediately become completely intoxicated, pass out 10 seconds later and wake up sober in one of several random locations. In very rare instances, the player can respawn on top of the Epsilon Building, where they will wake up wearing a Kifflom T-Shirt and unlock it in the "Unlocks" menu of Special T-Shirts. In rare instances when consumed in the casino, the Damage Control Casino Work will trigger.
If the player is able to sit down before the time runs out (which is possible at a few locations, such as the benches located near the nightclub entrance bar), they will not pass out until they stand up again.
Influence[]
Macbeth may be based on The Macallan, which features a similar name and logo. The whisky brand is likely named after Macbeth, who was the king of Scotland from 1032 to 1057.
