Not to be confused with The Libertine Hotel.
Liberteen is a play theater appearing in Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.
Description[]
Liberteen is non-interactive play theater in Star Junction, Algonquin, Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.
The only known plays or musicals in the theater are Banging Trash Can Lids for an Hour, and Fairy Body Paint. All Banging Trash Can Lids for an Hour billboards are replaced by Princess Robot Bubblegum anime advertising in The Ballad of Gay Tony, giving the wrongful impression that the theater hosts an anime screening. Although Peepthatshit.com states the theater is a kids theater, many of the musicals and plays shown appear to be adult-themed in nature.
Liberteen is also a sponsor of the film Zombie Resurrection along with Burger Shot and Clap Films Ltd.
The theater is first shown in the first Grand Theft Auto IV trailer, Things Will Be Different, where its "LIBERTEEN" signage is depicted against the backdrop of a time-lapsed cityscape.
Influence[]
The Liberteen is based on the New Victory Theater[1], which is a Broadway theater that, while oriented towards kids' performances today, was infamous in the 1970s for showcasing pornographic films.
