Primogems are the premium currency in Genshin Impact.

Uses[]

Primogems can be used to:

Replenish Original Resin, for 50–200 Primogems to replenish 60 Original Resin.
Buy Acquaint Fate or Intertwined Fate in Paimon's Bargains or the Wishes menu, for 160 Primogems each.
Purchase Battle Pass levels for 150 Primogems each level.

↑ Each Daily Commission rewards 10 Primogems. Completing all 4 Daily Commissions and speaking to Katheryne rewards an additional 20 Primogems, giving a total of 60 Primogems each day.
↑ The Spiral Abyss rewards 800 Primogems for completing Floors 9–12 with 9 stars on each floor; 3 and 6 stars on a floor reward 50 Primogems, and 9 stars reward 100. The floors reset on the 16th of each month.
↑ The Imaginarium Theater rewards 800 Primogems for completing performance challenges on each act; the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th and 9th medal earned will reward 60 Primogems, the 3rd and 6th medal reward 100, and the 8th and 10th medal reward 120. Seasons reset on the 1st of each month.

Players can also obtain Primogems by converting them from Genesis Crystals, however it should be noted that it cannot be converted vice versa.

The word Primogem is likely a portmanteau of the words "primordial" and "gem."
The Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese term for Primogem is 原石 lit. "primordial stone." This term likely derives from the same usage of "primordial" as 原神 lit. "primordial god," the title of the game as well as the term "allogenes."
- This term can also literally mean "rough gemstone," but that definition is not likely related to its usage in the game.
