Re: Cash is king

Out of date, non cirulation coinage is generally worth more than its face value at least to coin collectors, I sold a silver sixpenny bit as a child for 1 shilling but I think that was the miniscule silver content. Then again even paper currency is still worth something to collectors and the like

Re: "police declined to pursue the matter"

Until the Police actually do policing this is never going to change, it's not exactly rocket science and they can get the scummy teabags that do this. Its like bugulary, its trdious to pursue and may/may not be worth alot per incident but it is usually the same thieves each time. Don't police it and the thieves are encouraged to do it more, I mean they love easy money and non-enforced laws. And yes such cash will end up fueling more serious crimess and there will eventually be a moral panic - again.

I wouldnt chuckle, there are those that state its all the fault of NATO and Putin is misunderstood - the same people who decry being woke as an anti-christain harbinger of the Apocaylpse. So really would take up the ant-woke refugee status, at least they say they will. Re: Virgin on the Ridiculous

I had to go to Atlanta via Virgin Ambassador class, as it was non-stop direct. I was never quried over the price. But the beancounters refused to let me use the arrranged accomodation even though it was discounted to almost nothing - awkward in the meetings as that was where the 'event' was being held - but I did get a decent Motel.

Toni the terrible

I once (well a few times) was required to attend a technical audit (no bean counters) over most of the week using a very costly hotel this was so long ago that credit cards were not that common, I had one but the very senior attendees didntt. It was amusing to pay the very high bill at the end so quickly whereas all the other attendees had to pay using many cheques each as they couldn't garuantee more than £50 at a time... Yes, I was paid those expenses in full later - mostly because I was required to use the same hotel as all the Director....

It was very comfortable, first time I got to drink wine at several hundreds a glass. Those were the days!
