Brit dual nationals grounded by border digitization drive
Re: unsure whether she would be able to return to the UK
I’m confused. If you’re a dual national (oz/brit) you have every right to work don’t you? You’re a British citizen ?
I guess this £500 piece of paper is to prove that inside your Oz passport: this passport belongs to a person who is a dual citizen. I dont understand why it is so bloody expensive though.
Presumably you have to buy a new one if you change passports too. Seems like you’d want to get a British passport for 75 quid instead.
Punishing people who actually decided to go for citizenship after BREXIT. I guess they juiced them for their bullshit tea drinking exam so the poor saps are being juiced again.
Papers please.
Meanwhile my non dual national permanent right to remain partner gets to travel without paying half a grand to the state for…er…nothing?
Until Farage gets in and deports my wife I guess.

Re: Does everything have to be "monetisable"?
Just as we can’t trust politicians with the NHS and Bank of England, we definitely can’t trust them with the BBC. We are not a Nordic country and it’s all very well until they start electing nutters from both ends of the spectrum (Girt Wilders was only next door!)
To be fair I have both a TV license and a Netflix subscription. I never watch anything on Netflix and constantly consume BBC radio, web and TV content.
As soon as you introduce market forces into the BBC it will turn into the same dog shit as everything else.
Can we just have this one nice thing? A broadcaster owned by us for us. Not by some white supremacist cum rag or some shrivelled billionaire and his odious family…us…British people.
Apple, Google pulled into Grok controversy as campaigners demand app store takedown
Think you've missed the point AC. Read the article.
This isn't about what happens in people imaginations or inside peoples heads...that's their business.
This is about actual harm caused by actual images that have been generated and disseminated on a platform and tool designed for this purpose.
Lets take a simple scenario:
I have a classroom of 14 years olds (mixed boys/girls)
One of the class takes a class mate he fancies picture and feeds it into his CSAM generator (Grok).
The picture is sent round to the others in the class.
...?...
...profit (for Elon Musk).
How do you think the class mate who has been violated feels? Did she consent to this? How do you think a class of 14 year olds will react to this picture? What if the picture comes with a story about how the classmate was a slut who he banged last night and took this photo? Is this still harmless fantasising?
Do you think?
The CSAM generator doesn't need to be a CSAM generator...that's by design isn't it...we know this because Musk has had it turned off (but not in all countries because CSAM is apparently fine unless it's legally not).
If the man who owns the CSAM generator makes it so it isn't a CSAM generator anymore (because there is still no valid usecase for this other than for paedophiles to generate CSAM), should he not be compelled to do so?
Re: Facilitating Access to NCII and CSAM
It's literally only to do with NCII and CSAM. You don't like Musk being caught out and adopt his affluenza influenced child like view of "freedom".
It's easy:
1) this functionality has been built specifically to do what it does and has been called out for it.
2) It has no legitimate use (tell me the legitimate use please if I am wrong).
3) It needs to be un-built.
Nobody gives a toss if millions of people want to be talked dirty to by a chatbot trained on pornography...that's their choice and what they do with a gym sock in the privacy of their own cum soaked bedsit is their business.
Nearly everybody gives a shit that their children and relatives can be abused online by a tool that has no genuine other purpose than to specifically do this.
"That's it"
I would go a step further and say this is Musk releasing more rage bait to up his pathetic little profile. Maybe he needs more state subsidies for his "private" enterprises. Go on, the US tax payer loves a good Musk subsidy!
AWS flips switch on Euro cloud as customers fret about digital sovereignty
My downvote was for this:
"and doesn't want England to drag the US into another world war because of what that Hun Fritz said about Our Charlie."
England did not drag the US into any war...the US made a decision based on its own interests and imperialist goals. Sure they lost a few good men...but some people got rich too, no?
Check the history...England lost any say over what the United States of America does or doesn't do in 1783.
Ofcom keeps X under the microscope despite Grok 'nudify' fix
Re: Geoblocked
Indeed. Which shows Musk has full control over what his tools can and cannot do...he has decided to continue to allow people to abuse women and children in this way. I'm pleased that's crystal clear even if it doesn't stop the abuse: it's his choice and therefore his responsibility. Lets see what happens in time.
To all the ACs who said this was "Technically very difficult because of how complex LLMs are".
Turns out it was a switch...turns out your dogshit LLM is just an old wizard pulling some rusty chains to make child porn come flying out.
Turns out you didn't know as much as you thought you did about how "difficult" it was to switch off Grok's child pornography generator.
Turns out Musk's dogshit chatbot Grok can be told not to do something...if the correct US court threat is issued.
Makes our premier look a bit limp dicked...his chance to actually take action (shut down X until Grok was either disabled or made so it wasn't a child pornography generator) was missed. Sad times. Thank you California!
Bit sad that child pornography mode...sorry...spicy mode will still be available to all good VPNs since Musk couldn't bring himself to actually disable the functionality where there is high demand for it and therefore money to be made from it. Great guy. Great company.

Re: Almost time
People with mobile phones? Cameras?
Like I said…Twitter is a tool, not “the truth”.
You said “leftist agenda” so you’re clearly quite slow. Do you mean the panorama edits that the people involved have been fired for? Held to account?
Also let’s not forget Trump DID incite the riots…listen to the demented fool’s speech and come to your own conclusion…but you probably know this…you were probably there.
Re: Almost time
Saying X is somewhere you go for truth is utterly insane…insisting on facts and professional journalism is not “censorship “ , you just won’t get a pack of lies from some commuist/islamist/fascist that suits your world view. Again FACTS are immutable…there is no “for” or “against” counting the number of people at an event or pretending there was a huge conspiracy to fix your election. …just face facts: some things need regulating for the good of society…this is one of them.
We should never accept tools that break laws and expect to get away with it...we know Musk can switch off his dogshit chat bot so don't be so dramatic...this has nothing to do with censorship or blocking "truth" or stopping people using Twitter...
Re: Almost time
Wanting tools that generate child pornography for paedophiles to either be fixed or restricted is virtue signalling bandwagon jumping?
I think you need to grow up AC.
I don’t give a fuck about how complicated it is or about ML/LLMs…it’s all a grok of shit in my opinion… genuinely offering no benefit to society in the sphere of social media …medical applications, real science…sure…generating child porn, or indeed any image…why? What the fuck for? Who the fuck for?
Calling me a useful idiot is like an engineer who designed and built a nuclear reactor calling a person who raises the alarm when they see flames flying out of their baby a fucking moron because they don't understand how the reactor works...guess what...anyone can see it's fucked and it's up to the people who designed and built it to understand and fix that...but if you knew anything about society you'd understand that. But you don't.
Re: Poppers Paradox
You don’t get to crowd source facts. That’s why facts are facts…not an agreed truth. Not a derived concept. A fact is a fact.
If a news organisation or company consistently presents lies (the opposite of facts ) as facts they need to be held to account. The truth is not crowd sourced…you don’t get to make up the truth it just is.
Maybe naive, but I am not a conspiracy theorist.

Fuck microsoft and the horse they rode in on.
Every time I log on at work now I feel miserable. Everything is slow...shit...spread over vast arrays of Teams channels, chats, groups, meeting and emails. It's desperately unresponsive. Onedrive penetrating everything...sending someone a document is now an act of "collaboration"...no fire and forget...it's a permanent share to my downloads file.
I just want Microsoft to FUCK OFF and stop making me work to use their operating system and ecosystem.
