A pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run in Dublin over the weekend.
The incident took place at around 8.45pm on Sunday evening in Rathmines, Dublin with Gardaí and emergency services attending the scene.
The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was taken by ambulance to St James’ Hospital with injuries which are understood to be serious.
APPEAL
Gardaí are currently appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A statement said: ‘Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury traffic collision in Rathmines, Dublin on Sunday, 22nd December 2024.
‘At approximately 8.45pm, Gardaí and emergency services responded to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Lower Rathmines Road. The car involved failed to remain at the scene.
‘The pedestrian, an adult males (40s), was taken by ambulance to St James’ Hospital. His injuries are understood to be serious.’
The statement added that the scene was currently preserved, with traffic diversions in place.
