A Galway family have pleaded for help after their home went up in flames just days before Christmas.
The devastating house fire, which took place on Monday December 16 in Kiltullagh, saw not only their home and belongings destroyed, but resulted in the death of their beloved family pet.
Taking to GoFundMe, close family members pleaded with the public for help, as they look to rebuild their lives.
The GoFund Me campaign was launched with a goal of €2,000, but thanks to the generosity of the public, has reached €4,300.
The campaign explained: ‘We want to help a very close family member after a devastating house fire. On the afternoon of 16th of December, our close family member’s house was destroyed by a house fire.
‘The entire house has been damaged, all contents and their belongings have been destroyed and will need to be replaced,’ they added.
The close family members also detailed the loss of their beloved pet, a dog named Daisy.
‘They have also lost their cherished dog Daisy, in this devastating fire. We would ask if you could help in anyway to assist them with rebuilding their lives over the next couple of months. Any help would be really appreciated especially as this has happened just before Christmas.’
