Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Virginia|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.

Removing a closed AfD discussion

Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Virginia. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

Fails WP:SPORTCRIT and WP:GNG. There is little to write about his playing career, with a spell in DC United that only yielded 9 minutes of playing time (no cup games, and no playing time in New York). Most of the article is either about his family, failing WP:NOTINHERITED, or about his unfortunate death that happened 8 years after he left soccer. While the death did get coverage, so does a lot of terminal patients that inspire others, and the person had to meet general notability guidelines beforehand as not to fail WP:NOTMEMORIAL. Delete Nothing found except passing mentions of a Browns Mill Junction; nothing suggesting this was a community. Whatever this was, it's been bulldozed under suburban sprawl, so it doesn't make much sense to talk about it in the present tense. WeirdNAnnoyed (talk) 12:05, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Delete This history of mills in Fairfax County in DC describes the milling activities there. There was a general store next to the mill and the miller owned a large farm, but evidence of an actual community in the immediate vicinity is conspicuous by its absence. It's probably just a name conferred on the subdivision when the area suburbanized and hence transferred to the topo map. Choess (talk) 15:33, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced article for an insignificant residential subdivision in Fairfax County, Virginia. WP:BEFORE yields nothing aside from real estate websites and local Facebook group on Google and nothing useful at all from ["Colchester Hunt, Virginia" site:newspapers.com searching Newspapers.com].

I am also nominating the following articles for the same reasons, being that they are insignificant residential subdivisions:

Delete. All three seem to be residential subdivisions with no existence as communities pre-suburbanization or significant coverage. I tried slightly looser newspapers.com searches without turning up anything further. Choess (talk) 06:09, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
